STOP THE GOSSIP

Brothers and sisters, the Word of God calls us to a higher standard in how we handle other people’s business. Too often, we get caught up in conversations about situations we don’t fully know, and before we realize it, gossip spreads. But listen

to what the Scripture says:

  • “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: to mind your own business and work with your hands.” (1 Thessalonians 4:11)
  • “Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.” (Proverbs 26:20)

When we leave people’s business alone, we are not being cold—we are being wise and obedient. Gossip doesn’t heal; it hurts. But when we watch our words, God can use our mouths to encourage others instead of destroy.

So the next time you’re tempted to speak on something you don’t know, pause and ask: Will this build someone up, or will it tear them down? Let us be people who carry peace, not confusion.

“See people’s business and leave it alone. Stop gossiping about what you don’t know. The Bible reminds us: ‘Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and mind your own business’ (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Let your words build, not break. ✨”
