KEEP PRESSING ONWARD

HH, Sir Godfrey Gregg D.Div
“And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?” (Nehemiah 6:3).

When work is pressing there are many little things that will come and seem to need attention. Then it is a very blessed thing to be quiet and still, and work on, and trust the little things with God.

He answers such trust in a wonderful way. If the soul has no time to fret and worry and harbour care, it has learned the secret of faith in God. A desperate desire to get some difficulty right takes the eye off of God and His glory. Whenever you begin to fret, murmur and complain your eyes will no longer be focused on Him and you have created a gap in your connection to God. That gap allows the flow of negative energy to enter the connection and disrupt your communication with God through faith.Image result for KEEP PRESSING ONWARD

Some dear ones have been so anxious to get well, and have spent so much time in trying to claim it, that they have lost their spiritual blessing. God sometimes has to teach such souls that there must be a willingness to be sick before they are so thoroughly yielded as to receive His fullest blessing. As you know the issue with Paul who had a thorn in his flesh, and he prayed that God will remove it. He was constantly in prayer until one day God answered him, For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:8-10

The enemy often keeps at this work. Sanballat came four times to Nehemiah and received always the same answer. It is best to stick to a good answer. How many fears we have stopped to fight which have proved to be nothing at last. Nehemiah recognized that fear was sin and did not dare to yield to it.

You can follow the same pursuit of a better spiritual life. The enemy loves to quote the Scriptures and you will recall how he hammered the word to Eve until she fell for it. Afterwards, he had no more intention for she was already a messenger for him. You will also recall that she went and ministered to Adam and the conversation was not of God but of the enemy.

Let me show you the other side when satan went to the Lord in the wilderness and said unto Him “If Thou art the Son ….” and Jesus replied with the word “Man shall not live by bread alone….” So Paul warned us to PUT ON THE ARMOUR OF GOD.  Wear this armour night and day for in your sleep the enemy will tempt you and you must be able to withstand at every cost. You are without excuse, but with Christ, in your vessel, you can smile at every storm.    Image result for KEEP PRESSING ONWARD
