Day 24: Lights in the World

Scripture: Matthew 5:16
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Our ancestors lived as lights within their communities, shining brightly through acts of faith, love, and courage. Their lives illuminated dark places and called others toward hope and truth. Walking in their light means embracing our role as beacons of God’s love in a world that often feels overshadowed by darkness.

Every good deed, every word of encouragement, and every act of kindness reflects the light shining through us. Our faith impacts not only our own lives but also radiates outward, influencing family, friends, and communities. We honour our ancestors by continuing to shine boldly, drawing others to glorify God.

Consider how your life can reflect this divine light today. What good deeds can you do? How can your actions inspire others to see God’s glory?

Challenge: Make a conscious effort to let your light shine by performing a kind act or sharing words of encouragement.

Prayer:
Lord, let Your light blaze boldly through me. May my actions and words bring glory to Your name and draw others into Your love. Empower me to be a faithful light in the world, honouring the legacy of those who shone before me. Amen.
