Day 6: Courage to Face Challenges

Scripture: Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Courage is the legacy of those who walked before us—ancestors who faced adversity with faith and determination, trusting in God’s presence to lead and protect. Whether crossing deserts, enduring persecution, or rebuilding after hardship, their boldness illuminated the path we now follow. This courage is not the absence of fear but the strength to move forward despite it.

Walking in the light of our ancestors means embracing their bravery as our own. God’s command to Joshua to be strong and courageous reminds us that our strength comes from divine companionship. We do not face life’s trials alone but are empowered by the same God who guided our forebears.

Reflect today on moments when your ancestors displayed courage. Maybe they spoke truth in difficult times, took risks for their families, or persevered through grief. Their stories inspire us to step beyond our comfort zones with faith, trusting that God’s presence remains a constant source of strength.

Challenge: Identify a challenge you are currently facing or avoiding. Pray for courage to face it with the confidence and faith of your ancestors.

Prayer:
Lord, grant me the courage to face today’s challenges as my ancestors did, trusting Your unwavering presence. Strengthen my heart, dispel my fears, and help me walk boldly in the light of Your promises. Amen.
