Devotion & Prayer for the Third Watch of the Night (September)
Beloved Father, I rise in the stillness of this third watch, between 3:00 and 6:00 a.m., offering myself as a watchman on the wall. Your Word declares, “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken” (Acts 16:25-26). Lord, just as You moved in the midnight and morning hours, move mightily in my life this day.
Father, as September unfolds, I lift my heart before You. This month, I decree alignment with Your perfect will. “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23). I thank You for the gift of a new morning, new mercies, and the dawning of breakthroughs.
During this watch, I silence every voice of fear, defeat, and distraction. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3). Lord, keep me steadfast. I seek divine strategies, protection for my family, and wisdom for every assignment. Let Your angels encamp around me as Your Word promises (Psalm 34:7).
Jesus, as I abide in You, I surrender September into Your hands. I pray for open doors, divine opportunities, and heavenly strength to endure. “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
This day, I thank You for peace, victory, and fulfilment of destiny. Be glorified in my life from the rising of the sun until it sets. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
